That single fact reorganizes the trip. Miami-Dade proms land on Saturday nights — Coral Gables Senior High held its 2026 prom on April 24 at the Marriott in Brickell, and its 2022 prom on a Saturday in late April at the JW Marriott downtown. If the dress is here, the last window to collect it is Friday at 4 p.m. Sunday, meanwhile, is the only weekend day this store is open, which makes it the one day a family with a working parent and a student in season can shop without missing school.
A bridal salon that also sells evening
Alegria’s has operated as a full-service bridal salon on the Mile since 1982. Its own site divides the floor into four categories: bridal gowns, mother of the bride and special occasion, quinceañera, and accessories. There is no prom department as such. The prom-capable labels are here — the shop appears on the retailer locators for Ashley Lauren, MNM Couture, Tarik Ediz and Terani — but they live on the special-occasion and quinceañera side, sharing rack space with dresses being sold to a bride’s mother and to a fifteen-year-old’s court. Quinceañera is a standing category, not a seasonal shelf, and the business runs in Spanish and English, with a WhatsApp line listed alongside the phone. Anyone driving in specifically for prom should call (305) 448-0699 first and ask what is physically in the store in their size, rather than assuming a wall of prom stock.
The 100 block of Bridal Row
Miracle Mile is the half-mile of Coral Way between LeJeune Road (SW 42nd Avenue) and Douglas Road (SW 37th Avenue), and it has carried the nickname Bridal Row for decades because of how many gown shops sit shoulder to shoulder along it. The practical value for a shopper in South Florida is that one parking session covers several stores. If nothing works at 120, the next salon is a few doors down, not a twenty-minute drive.
Parking is the usual downtown Gables arithmetic. The city’s published rates run $1 per 24 minutes in the garages, $4 an hour in surface lots, $3.50 an hour at the meters, and $15 for valet along the Mile. For a two-hour appointment plus alterations pinning, a garage is the cheaper choice.
Who lands here
Coral Gables Senior High, about 2,900 students at 450 Bird Road, is roughly a mile from the front door — close enough that a Cavalier can get here on a Sunday afternoon without a highway. The Coconut Grove private schools are a similar distance: Ransom Everglades on South Bayshore Drive and Main Highway, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, Immaculata-La Salle. Gulliver Prep pulls from the same stretch of the county, and Miami Coral Park draws from Westchester to the west. None of these students are traveling far. What they are choosing between is roughly a dozen formalwear stores inside one square mile, which is why the hours and the brand list matter more here than the drive time does.
