Very few dress shops sell a Jovani prom gown and a physique-competition bikini out of the same room. This one does. The City of Gahanna’s visitor listing describes the inventory as prom, pageant, homecoming, evening, quinceañera and special-occasion dresses, plus competition bikinis and swimwear, plus accessories — jewelry, shoes, hair extensions, lashes. That is a narrow, specific customer base: high school juniors in April, pageant contestants, and women prepping for a stage weight-class show. If you are shopping for a gown here, expect a boutique built around a stage look rather than a warehouse floor.
The brands
Two are confirmed on the manufacturers’ own retailer locators: Jovani and Terani Couture. Faviana also runs a retailer page for the shop. Those are prom-and-pageant labels — heavily beaded fitted gowns, high slits, sequin column dresses — not a bridesmaid or mother-of-the-bride house. Jovani’s locator shows the closest other authorized Jovani store in the metro is Gowntastic on North High Street in Columbus, a cross-town drive from the northeast side. The mall-scale alternative is Henri’s Cloud Nine at Polaris Fashion Place, on the other side of the outerbelt.
Where it sits, and what else is on that block
Gahanna is the northeast-side suburb just outside I-270; the Creekside District is its walkable downtown, on Mill Street where it meets North High. Suite 120 puts the shop in the middle of it. Creekside Plaza at 117 Mill Street is next door, and Creekside Park and the arboretum run behind it along Big Walnut Creek. Barrel & Boar, Nostalgia Brewing, Cold Stone, Signatures Mill Stone Tavern and a Local Cantina are all within a few hundred feet, which makes this an easy trip to combine with dinner rather than a strip-mall errand. Park in the Creekside decks and garage lots; Mill Street itself is short.
The nearest schools are the obvious ones. Gahanna Lincoln High School on South Hamilton Road enrolled 2,443 students in 2023–24, one of the larger public high schools in central Ohio, and the Columbus Academy campus on Cherry Bottom Road — reachable from Morse Road or US 62 — adds another 1,100-plus students across its grades. A Gahanna Lincoln family can get here in ten minutes. Central Ohio proms cluster in late April and early May, later than in the South, which means the useful shopping window here is February and March, and homecoming traffic hits in September.
Two things to check before you drive
First, the shop has no website on file with us, and one national review site currently flags the listing as temporarily closed. The listed hours there run early afternoon into evening Monday through Wednesday, Friday afternoon, and Saturday morning to mid-afternoon, with Thursday and Sunday closed. Call (614) 934-5397 before you make the trip, especially if you are coming from outside Franklin County.
Second, the block is not settled. Gahanna City Council has been working with a Columbus-based development team on a roughly $100 million overhaul of the Creekside District that, as presented, would put two seven-story buildings on either side of Mill Street with 263 apartments, a small hotel and two restaurants. Nothing public spells out what that means for the existing storefronts at 121 Mill.
Reviews split, and it is worth knowing how. Customers who found their dress here describe attentive, one-on-one help and a range of price points, particularly for homecoming. The recurring complaint is scale: the sales floor is small, and more than one shopper reported thin stock above single-digit sizes. One review states flatly that the store “is small, and the selection is even smaller.” If you wear a size 12 or above, ask on the phone what is actually on the rack in your size before you spend the afternoon.
