Blush is less one label than a family of them. Alexia Designs, a company better known for wedding gowns under the Alexia Bridal and Daisy Bridal names, runs Blush as its prom brand and splits it into seven collections. The company's own site describes each one:
- Blush, the main line, with modern shapes and plenty of sparkle
- iNtrigue, full-length gowns for prom and black-tie events
- Black, short dresses for homecoming or a night out
- Pink, full skirts and ball gowns
- Too, cut for plus-size figures
- Opulence, the heavily beaded, red-carpet tier
- Exclusive, sold only through Blush stockists
Alexia also says the Blush collection won Best Prom Collection at the Bridal Buyer Awards in 2015.
On price, Blush sits in the middle of the market. Twirl in Kenton, Ohio posts ten long Blush gowns, every one at $375, plus two homecoming styles at $298 and $318. Joani's in Shelby Township, Michigan lists its Blush gowns from about $320 to $550 before markdowns. That lands close to Scala, so a shopper weighing sparkle per dollar can try both.
Because the sub-lines matter, it helps to know which shops name them. Chique Prom in Raleigh, North Carolina stocks Intrigue by Blush. Joeval's Bridal in Rochester, New York carries both Blush by Alexia and Black by Blush, the short line. For curvier shoppers, Andrea's Prom & Bridal in Jackson, Ohio and Gabrielle's in Smiths Station, Alabama both list Blush Too, in both cases next to Tiffany Designs and its plus line.
Our listings count 35 shops carrying Blush in 20 states. Florida has the most with five. Texas, Ohio and New York follow at three each, and no other state has more than two.
How much are Blush prom dresses?
Most long Blush styles list at about $375 to $550 at full price. Short homecoming styles run closer to $300. Clearance takes a big bite: Joani's has marked a $540 Blush gown down to $190.
What is the difference between Blush, Intrigue and Blush Too?
They are sister collections from the same company. Blush is the main prom line. Intrigue focuses on full-length gowns for prom and black-tie nights. Blush Too is the plus-size collection, which Alexia says is made to flatter plus-size curves. Most shops we list name only one of the three, so call ahead and ask which one is on the floor.
