Most of the national names that opened the Mall at Tuttle Crossing in 1997 are gone. The property sold in October 2023 for $19.5 million to a group of New York investment firms led by Namdar Realty Group, and the closings kept coming after that — H&M, Forever 21, Claire’s. What is left inside is now mostly local businesses and kiosks working around three anchors: Macy’s, JCPenney and the Scene75 Entertainment Center in the old Marshall Field’s building. The former Sears is still empty.
Dress Destination is one of those local tenants. It is a prom and homecoming store first — that is how the shop describes itself, with partywear, jewelry and shoes alongside the gowns. Its social accounts add pageant to the list. Three labels are confirmed on the brands’ own retailer locators: Clarisse, Dave & Johnny and Terani. Dave & Johnny is the short-dress and homecoming end of that lineup; Terani sits at the formal, heavily beaded end; Clarisse covers a lot of ground between them.
Who shops here
The mall has a Dublin mailing address but sits inside Columbus city limits, at the Tuttle Crossing Boulevard exit off the west side of the I-270 outerbelt. That puts it almost exactly between two of the largest high schools in this part of central Ohio. Hilliard Davidson, on Davidson Road, is about two miles southwest and enrolled 1,944 students in 2023–24. Dublin Coffman, on Coffman Road, is about the same distance north with 1,824 in 2024–25. Hilliard Darby is roughly three miles out on Leppert Road, and Hilliard Bradley about six, on Walker Road. Dublin Scioto and Dublin Jerome pull from the north and west sides of the district. All six play in the Ohio Capital Conference, which means these students already see each other constantly.
That geography cuts both ways for a dress shopper. It is a short drive from six big schools, and it is a short drive for everyone else at those six big schools. If avoiding a duplicate gown at your own prom matters to you, ask which school a dress has already gone to before you buy it — a store this close to Davidson and Coffman is tracking that whether or not you ask.
The second store, and the alternatives
Dress Destination also runs a location at 1500 Polaris Parkway, inside Polaris Fashion Place on the north side of the outerbelt. The two are about twelve miles apart by highway. Practically, that means one trip up 270 gets you a second inventory to look through rather than a wasted afternoon, and it is worth asking whether a size you need can be moved between the two.
For a wider designer selection, Henri’s Cloud Nine is over on Sancus Boulevard near Polaris, at the other end of that same drive. Macy’s at Tuttle Crossing is a hundred feet away in the same building for special-occasion dresses off the rack, plus shoes and alterations questions.
Central Ohio proms land in late April and May, which puts the serious shopping window in February and March, after the holidays and well before the last-minute alteration crunch. Homecoming buying starts in August. This store has no website of its own; new arrivals turn up on its Instagram and Facebook pages, which is where its stock is easiest to preview before the drive.
