Wayne County School District runs a single high school. Wayne County High on Jacket Drive enrolled 1,509 students in 2023–24, and every one of them — from Jesup, Odum, Screven and the county roads in between — goes to the same prom. That is the fact that shapes formalwear shopping here. In a metro area, two girls in the same Jovani gown end up at different dances. In Jesup they end up in the same room, in the same photographs.
Taylor’s Formal Wear and Bridal sits about a mile and a half west of downtown at 1579 West Cherry Street, on the stretch of road that carries US 341 and US 25 into town. Four brands list the shop on their own retailer locators:

That is a prom-and-pageant lineup rather than a mother-of-the-bride one. Jovani is the label most students recognize by name; Johnathan Kayne carries more of a pageant following. The shop’s legal name in Georgia corporate records includes “and Bridal,” and its social posts run to homecoming as well, so prom is one season out of several under the same roof.
Why the drive matters
Jesup is a crossroads town — US 341, US 84, US 301 and US 25 all meet here — which cuts both ways. Everything is reachable, and nothing is close. Brunswick is 41 miles south, roughly fifty minutes each way. Savannah is about 66 miles up Highway 84. A shopping trip to either is most of a Saturday, and a trip that ends in nothing bought is a wasted one. A shop on Cherry Street carrying current-season Jovani is the version of that errand that takes an afternoon instead.
The address is a multi-unit building; the same street number turns up on listings for a physical therapy clinic and a gift shop, so look for the suite rather than a freestanding storefront. Downtown is a mile back east, where the Piggly Wiggly-anchored Cherry Street center was renovated in 2016 — close enough to fold into the same trip. Wayne Memorial Hospital and Coastal Pines Technical College are both within a couple of miles.
Before going
There is no store website on file. New arrivals surface on the shop’s Facebook page, which has roughly 2,900 followers, and on its Instagram account, which had 528 posts as of this writing — that is the practical way to see what is on the racks. Third-party listings disagree about hours: one shows Monday through Saturday, 10:30 to 5:30, another has the shop opening at 9:00 on Monday. The phone number, (912) 996-4557, settles it faster than any listing will.
Review volume is thin — 15 reviews averaging 4.9 stars on one aggregator, which says more about a town of this size than about the store. Two things worth asking at the counter, since neither is documented anywhere public: whether they track which styles have already gone to Wayne County students, and how far ahead they book fittings once prom season starts. In a one-high-school county, the first question is the one that actually matters.
